Molten Metal Plant Hydrogen Measuring Probe's HYDRIS Operating principle

    HYDRIS can direct measure hydrogen content of the ladle, tundish and ingot mould in molten steel, nitrogen as carrier gas through the probe into the molten steel and absorption of the hydrogen in the liquid steel, until the hydrogen content in the carrier gas and hydrogen content in liquid steel to balance.

    HYDRIS System work method

   Nitrogen as carrier gas through the gas pipeline, lance and probe on the air pipe into the molten steel driven by the pump in the loop, formed bubbles. 

   Nitrogen bubbles absorb the hydrogen in the molten steel and return to the gas cabinet through the vent plug of the internal bell jar of the probe. The carrier circulates through the loop several times and finally the hydrogen content in the molten steel and the hydrogen partial pressure in the carrier gas to banlance.

  Analytical technique

  Thermal conductivity meter of pneumatic cabinet can analyze the hydrogen content in the carrier gas, according to the law of SIEVER by the hydrogen partial pressure can calculate the hydrogen content in liquid steel.
